Review of Il Sorriso dei SassiNestled in the heart of Matera's ancient town, Il Sorriso dei Sassi strikes a balance between luxury and value, making it a noteworthy choice for discerning travelers. Clean and well-organized, our hosts—Giovanni and Alessandra—provided excellent service, offering insightful recommendations for local sightseeing and dining options. The room was equipped with essential comforts, including efficient air conditioning and a flat-screen TV, essential for a restful stay, especially during the sweltering July heat. While I did not personally stay here, I booked it for my daughter on her honeymoon. She praised the ideal location, just a short walk from the town's enchanting sites, albeit with some steep hills. It’s important to note that the air conditioning only operates while the room key is in use, a minor point of contention yet manageable given the surrounding ambiance. Il Sorriso offers a solid value proposition with an exceptional living experience in a historic setting, making it a commendable option for both couples and families seeking a memorable escape.
